For the Birds

I love the Pixar shorts, so when I saw "For the Birds" (you can watch the 3 minute movie here,) I knew we had to watch it in 1st grade and work on a related project.

We used finger prints of tempera paints on a marker drawn wire to create our own birds on a wire.  This was a half-day with short classes, so most kiddos just had time for the wire and the fingerprints and had to add the "extras" on the next day, but if I did have early finishers they were encouraged to add details like the ground, the clouds, etc.
